Hi, my name is Michelle! I have been working with families in crisis since 2003.
My counseling journey started with the passion to help others as a teenager when a life crisis resulted in others helping me and my family. That passion led to a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2006. And from there, the amazing privilege of completing a Masters in Marriage & Family Counseling and a Masters in Christian Education from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 2013.
Upon returning home to Central Florida, I have served individuals, couples and families with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, loss, parenting, relationships, work stress, etc. In 2016, a family member walked through a mental health crisis and we went through the gamut of mental health services. At that time, I began personally researching the brain, the impact of trauma, and the components of psychosis. This research led to the completion of training in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, a treatment specifically targeting the resolution of trauma.
In 2018, I became severely ill and was introduced to the world of functional medicine. This opened up the fascinating study of psychosomatic illness (physical symptoms that come from a psychological root), the gut-brain connection, the trauma-auto immune relationship, and lifestyle treatment strategies.
If these experiences and training resonate with you, then it is my absolute pleasure to walk alongside of you in your healing journey.
